What happens when a CPA turned brewer and a community organizer start a brewery? You get Leikam Brewing! Founded in 2014, Leikam Brewing is a certified kosher, community-centered, family owned and operated 5BBL brewery. Production originally took place our backyard in Southeast Portland. In August of 2019, we opened our first retail location on 58th and Burnside and just 6 months later had to close down due to the pandemic. In 2021, production was moved to the Burnside Taproom & Community Space. 

One of our core family values is giving back and the principle of tikkun olam or repairing the world. A portion of the profits from our beers support nonprofit organizations we are committed to. We value community and hold space for chess clubs, musicians, book clubs and more.

I am janitor, webmaster, head of marketing, HR and so much more at the brewery. These roles have all required strategic thinking, project management skills, developing a shared vision and removing obstacles to get things done. I am a board member of the Oregon Brewers Guild and love the time I get to spend with our local Pink Boots Society chapter members. Although the official beverage for the state of Oregon is milk, I think it should be beer.
